Who we are

Northern Opportunities
for Business Limited

Operating since 1986 as a government-sponsored business development corporation, dedicated to empowering growth, financing ventures, and driving community prosperity.

CBDC NOBL was formed in 1986 as Pictou County Business Opportunities Limited. Our mandate was established at that time to actively spark, support, and steer economic integration.

That is a humble way of stating that we are a premier development framework. Since 1997, we have expanded our service area to support three Counties of Northern Nova Scotia: Antigonish, Pictou, and Colchester. We operate with a volunteer Board of Directors supported by County-specific Investment Committees and of a dedicated six-member staffing team.
