For many, your computer will be or already is, simply the conduit you use to access your online workplace, the cloud. The computer is not where you work, but the road to get there. As the last 48 months have taught us, one must be agile and able to work from anywhere.  Join instructor Lorie Dias, on a 10 week exploration of all things Microsoft Office 365, including but not necessarily limited to:

  • Exploring the Screen and Standard Toolbar and Ribbon tools
  • Templates, Editing Tools, Copy and Paste Options
  • Simple Formulas, Functions, and Conditional Formatting
  • Formatting - Date, Accounting, Numbers, Currency, Percentages
  • Printing - single sheet, portion of sheet, all sheets, fit to page, page break, preview, lock headings at top of printout, multiple sheets
  • Setting up, navigating, sending and receiving messages
  • Inserting tables, graphics, and images to emails in Outlook
  • Using Folders and Rules for better email organization
  • Managing multiple calendars
  • Working with documents, navigating, editing text and formatting
  • Using mail merge with MS Excel
  • Setting up, navigating, and storing files in Windows Explorer and OneDrive
  • OneNote

Start Date: Wednesday, September 25, 2024

Time: 1:00pm - 5:00pm

Classes will occur every Wednesday for 10 weeks.  There are additional requirements for the Zoom online programs, as follows: The program must be taken on a computer, laptop, or tablet; phones will not be an accepted device. Participants must have a high speed Internet connection (no dial up), and hardwired is preferred to wi-fi. A headset or earbuds must be used, and the participant must have a webcam, if no camera in their laptop, with the camera left on; video participation is a requirement, to ensure the connection to the instructor and other participants. A quiet place to focus is required, free from distractions. These details will be part of the INA process.

Registration is not confirmation of acceptance in the program; you will be contacted as to your status after an individual needs assessment, and no later than September 20, 2024.

"I personally use Microsoft To-Do and Tasks on a daily basis in my restaurants as it makes me more efficient with notes, reminders, meetings etc. I have recently started using Microsoft Doc's as well for kitchen line manuals with picture inserts to set my staff up for success. I am also starting to navigate Microsoft Insights to better manage my time between four restaurants as well as Microsoft Visio for in depth flow charts for everyday training. This was a fantastic course that I would suggest to anyone that is willing to learn."  Terry Robinson, The Truro Group of Companies

TESTIMONIALS

I recently attended a Sage 50, 40 hour course being facilitated by Chris Lewis of Chris Lewis Business Solutions. Located and sponsored through NOBL and CBDC New Glasgow.
I found the course and content to be very useful to me in a way that gave me the confidence to start a business plan for a small business in Bookkeeping.
Chris Lewis is very knowledgeable in the field of accounting and business and facilitated the program very well and professional. He gave more than anticipated tips and tricks of the trade which will also be very useful to me being new to the business world.
It is a great opportunity in my opinion to attend such courses being offered; especially for free. These courses can run you anywhere from $1500 to $2500 depending on the institution. I would like to attend more courses like this to keep my skills up to date and to gain more knowledge of the business world.
