This very interactive program, Presentation Skills for an Online Environment, has been developed for anyone who would like to have more confidence and skill when speaking on behalf of their business and doing so in an online space. Using the Zoom platform, the program focuses on helping you develop an understanding of the fundamentals of public speaking and builds on this with a variety of activities such as voice projection exercises, impromptus, and presenting multiple forms of speeches.

Using facilitator and peer feedback as well as video replay, you will learn to develop your public speaking skills by working on strengthening  specific areas. You’ll also learn how to navigate the Zoom tools and the online resources to increase engagement, as well as how to prepare and share materials with meeting/presentation participants.

Learning Outcomes:
•Identify the core audience
•Determine subject matter expertise
•Create presentation goals
•Map the presentation path
•Define critical elements of presentations
•Identify strategies for developing presence
•Demonstrate strategies for engaging audiences
•Create presentation content
•Develop and practice presentations
•Analyze barriers to presenting
•Create a presentation slide deck
•Demonstrate using visual aids during a presentation
•Demonstrate how to introduce and thank speakers

Start date: Tuesday, April 16, 2024

Time: 1:00pm - 5:00pm

Classes will run every Monday for 10 consecutive weeks.  There are additional requirements for the Zoom online programs, as follows: The program must be taken on a computer, laptop, or tablet; phones will not be an accepted device. Participants must have a high speed Internet connection (no dial up), and hardwired is preferred to wi-fi. A headset or earbuds must be used, and the participant must have a webcam, if no camera in their laptop, with the camera left on; video participation is a requirement, to ensure the connection to the instructor and other participants. A quiet place to focus is required, free from distractions. These details will be part of the INA process.

Registration is not confirmation of acceptance in the program; you will be contacted as to your status after an individual needs assessment, and no later than April 12, 2024.

TESTIMONIALS

Chris Lewis helped to clarify our social media strategy.. There are tools in social media that he introduced us to and helped us work with them. We have been able to reach many more people with our advertising through the use of social media. (eg. Facebook, Twitter, and Hootsuite.) It is well worth the time commitment to the course outline. - Alan Klein
