QuickBooks Online (Computerized Accounting Level I) will show you how to take a manual accounting system and computerize it using QBO accounting software. Starting with the basics of setting up a company, you will learn how to create each main module (accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll) as well as completing monthly bank reconciliations and year-end procedures. This program is designed to provide the basics to a new user and enhance the efficiency of someone currently using the QuickBooks program. During the 10-week program, we will explore the online program applying the skills needed to use QuickBooks for your business accounting. We will concentrate on getting setup, syncing your bank account, day-to-day entries, receipts, invoices, and the use of apps. By the end of the program each participant should have a functioning online accounting program.

Major topics covered will include:

• Financial foundation concepts (review)
• Setting up a company
• Entering invoices and purchases
• Completing a payroll
• Year-end procedures and financial statements
• Completing a bank reconciliation
• Adjusting entries and correcting errors

Start Date: Thursday, January 26, 2023

Time: 1:00pm - 5:00pm

Classes will run every Thursday for 10 consecutive weeks. There are additional requirements for the Zoom online programs, as follows: The program must be taken on a computer, laptop, or tablet; phones will not be an accepted device. Participants must have a high speed Internet connection (no dial up), and hardwired is preferred to wi-fi. A headset or earbuds must be used, and the participant must have a webcam, if no camera in their laptop, with the camera left on; video participation is a requirement, to ensure the connection to the instructor and other participants. A quiet place to focus is required, free from distractions. These details will be part of the INA process.

Registration is not confirmation of acceptance in the program; you will be contacted as to your status after an individual needs assessment, and no later than January 20, 2023.

"...the skills and tips I was taught by Lynn MacKinnon have allowed me to be able to perform tasks more efficiently and productively. Every week, I came back to the office and was able to implement one of the skills I was taught in class into my daily practice."

TESTIMONIALS

“Leading my first-ever CBDC-NOBL course, I can’t say enough about Lynn MacKinnon! She is an incredible instructor, and wow, does she know her stuff! I’ve learned more in five weeks than I did in all of my years in university, having taken multiple accounting and finance courses throughout. Lynn uses language and terms we can all understand, as well as practical, real-life examples to take us through the information we need to know for small business accounting; all of which I have already used. Lynn is hands-down the best instructor I’ve had to date, and I can only hope I have the great fortune of partaking in another course, led by her, in future. Thank you Lynn!” Tanya Colburne, Partner, Langille & Colburne – More Than Events
