QuickBooks Online (Computerized Accounting Level I) will show you how to take a manual accounting system and computerize it using QBO accounting software. Starting with the basics of setting up a company, you will learn how to create each main module (accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll) as well as completing monthly bank reconciliations and year-end procedures. This program is designed to provide the basics to a new user and enhance the efficiency of someone currently using the QuickBooks program. During the 10-week program, we will explore the online program applying the skills needed to use QuickBooks for your business accounting. We will concentrate on getting setup, syncing your bank account, day-to-day entries, receipts, invoices, and the use of apps. By the end of the program each participant should have a functioning online accounting program.

Major topics covered will include:

• Financial foundation concepts (review)
• Setting up a company
• Entering invoices and purchases
• Completing a payroll
• Year-end procedures and financial statements
• Completing a bank reconciliation
• Adjusting entries and correcting errors

Start Date: Thursday, September 25, 2025

Time: 1:00pm - 5:00pm

Classes will run every Thursday for 10 consecutive weeks.
There are additional requirements for the Zoom online programs, as follows: The program must be taken on a computer, laptop, or tablet; phones will not be an accepted device. Participants must have a high speed Internet connection (no dial up), and hardwired is preferred to wi-fi. A headset or earbuds must be used, and the participant must have a webcam if no camera in their laptop, with the camera left on.  Video participation is a requirement, to ensure the connection to the instructor and other participants. A quiet place to focus is also required, free from distractions.
These details will be part of the INA process.

Registration is not confirmation of acceptance in the program; you will be contacted as to your status after an individual needs assessment, and no later than September 18, 2025.

"...the skills and tips I was taught by Lynn MacKinnon have allowed me to be able to perform tasks more efficiently and productively. Every week, I came back to the office and was able to implement one of the skills I was taught in class into my daily practice."

Brett McCully, Flagship Construction

TESTIMONIALS

I recently attended a Sage 50, 40 hour course being facilitated by Chris Lewis of Chris Lewis Business Solutions. Located and sponsored through NOBL and CBDC New Glasgow.
I found the course and content to be very useful to me in a way that gave me the confidence to start a business plan for a small business in Bookkeeping.
Chris Lewis is very knowledgeable in the field of accounting and business and facilitated the program very well and professional. He gave more than anticipated tips and tricks of the trade which will also be very useful to me being new to the business world.
It is a great opportunity in my opinion to attend such courses being offered; especially for free. These courses can run you anywhere from $1500 to $2500 depending on the institution. I would like to attend more courses like this to keep my skills up to date and to gain more knowledge of the business world.
